How We Do It

The Zambia Project is unique from many aid programs around the world. We are sensitive not to create an unhealthy dependence on American oversight and management of programs being carried out by the Zambian population. We operate within meaningful partnerships with Zambian-managed projects as we empower the Zambian participants. The Zambia Project does not own any property in Zambia, nor does it function as a “supervisory board” over an indigenous board that serves merely to “rubber stamp” decisions made by The Zambia Project. Please read our Foundational Principles to learn more about our operational philosophy.
