|  | Our famine relief efforts are designed to address the regions of Zambia that are periodically stricken with drought conditions and crop failures. Although The Zambia Project favors long-term, sustainable solutions to dealing with such crises, there are occasions when famine conditions become serious enough that large numbers of the population are at risk for starvation. In such cases, the Zambia Project will respond to this need in a way that solicits local involvement and prepares the way for future agricultural development once the famine has passed.
